The SEABOB F5 SR is the top of the discontinued F5 series: a 4.5 kW motor delivering 745 N of thrust, up to 22 km/h on the surface, and the only F5 with the SEABOB Cam — two full-HD cameras — and two rear fins fitted as standard. It weighs about 34 kg.
It was the enthusiast's choice in the family: the most power, the most speed, and the on-board camera for capturing dives. Like the whole F5 series, it is now discontinued and no longer appears in Cayago's current price list.
Below are the official specifications, the battery and runtime, the 40 m depth capability, what the SEABOB Cam actually is, why the series ended, and who the F5 SR still suits. For the differences across the family, see F5, F5 S and F5 SR compared.

The F5 SR in one paragraph
The F5 SR is the flagship of the F5 family: the most powerful motor at 4.5 kW, the most thrust at 745 N, the highest speed at 22 km/h, and the most power levels at 7. It is also the only member of the series to ship with the SEABOB Cam — two full-HD cameras built into the nose — and two rear fins as standard equipment.
Discontinued along with the rest of the series, the F5 SR is now a used-market and rental-fleet machine. Its spec sheet still holds up — 745 N of thrust exceeds the current F9 — which is why well-kept examples remain genuinely sought after.

The SEABOB Cam: two full-HD cameras
The F5 SR's defining feature is the SEABOB Cam: two full-HD cameras integrated into the craft, one facing forward and one facing the rider. It is what separates the SR from the F5 S — the F5 S shares the same 34 kg hull and dimensions but has no standard cameras.
For a charter or rental operator, the camera is a selling point rather than a gimmick: guests get first-person footage of their own ride and their dives, which is exactly the kind of memory that fills a holiday reel. On a used unit, check that the camera housing and seals are intact, since a damaged or leaking housing is a repair item.
Battery and real-world runtime
The F5 SR runs on the largest battery in the series — 48 V, 42 Ah, 1.8 kWh — giving an average operating time of about 60 minutes. That is the same rated runtime as the F5 S, but drawn against a more powerful motor, so sustained top-level riding will shorten it more aggressively.
Charging is the series' age showing again: about 7 hours for a full standard charge, roughly 1.5 hours with the quick charger. On a machine this powerful, spare batteries were the norm for any operator running it daily.
Diving depth: 2.5 m by default, up to 40 m
Out of the box the F5 SR depth cut-off is 2.5 m, the safe default. Through the settings menu it can be raised to 40 m — the same maximum as the F5 and F5 S, and deeper than the current F9's 25 m ceiling.
Raising it is not casual. Diving beyond 2.5 m should only be done by divers with a valid licence or with a qualified instructor, and never alone. The motor cuts out past the set depth and restarts only above it, and the depth sensor is a limit switch, not a calibrated dive gauge.
For an SR the depth capability pairs naturally with the camera: the whole point of the forward-facing lens is footage of what's below, so a properly licensed rider can capture dives the F5 and F5 S could only look at.
Why the F5 series was discontinued
Cayago's current price list covers the F9, F9 S and SE63 only; the F5 family, including the SR, has been removed. New F5 SR units are no longer produced, so what remains is old dealer stock plus a used market where well-kept SRs still command attention.
The last official F5 list we hold dates from July 2020, when the F5 SR was listed at 16,895.40 EUR gross in Germany — the most expensive of the three. Treat that as historical reference only; it says nothing about today's used or rental value.
Discontinued does not mean unsupported: parts, battery re-celling and repairs — including the SEABOB Cam — are all still available, and we service F5 SR units regardless of where they were bought.
Who the F5 SR still suits
- Performance riders — 745 N of thrust and 22 km/h make it the fastest of the family and still ahead of the current F9 on thrust.
- Content creators and divers — the two-camera SEABOB Cam captures first-person footage of rides and dives straight out of the box.
- Premium rental and charter operators — the camera is a genuine upsell: guests leave with footage of their own session.
- Collectors and enthusiasts — as the discontinued flagship, a clean F5 SR is the most desirable machine in the series.
If you don't need the camera, the F5 S is the same hull for less money; if you want the lightest option, that's the F5.
