The Seabob F9 is the base model of the F9 series, the generation designed by Studio F. A. Porsche together with CAYAGO's engineers. It is the lightest and most affordable new Seabob in the current range, and the one most rental riders meet first — it is the standard unit in our own Fethiye fleet.
Under the shell it carries a 2.6 kW motor producing 60 TP of thrust, a 48 V battery of 0.8 kWh (upgradeable to 1.2 kWh with Battery Capacity Plus), and a stepless thumb accelerator with Normal, Dive and Sport drive modes. It dives to a factory-set 3 m, settable up to 25 m.
Cayago does not publish a top speed for the F9, so we will not quote one as official. From our own fleet data the F9 runs at roughly 15 km/h on the surface — approximate, per our fleet data, not a factory figure. Below is the full official spec sheet, the battery story, and who the F9 is actually for. For pricing, see the Seabob price guide.

The F9 in one line
The F9 series is the product of Studio F. A. Porsche working with CAYAGO's engineers — a hull built around titanium, magnesium and special ceramic coatings, and a cockpit reduced to a digital, thumb-operated accelerator with stepless power delivery. Three drive modes shape the ride: Normal (the default), Dive (gentle acceleration for underwater), and Sport (instant 100% power, needs at least 40% power to engage).
The F9 is the more accessible of the two F9-series craft: lower power and a smaller standard battery than the F9 S, which is exactly why it is the machine most people try first — and the one we run most in our rental fleet. What it gives up against the F9 S in outright pace, it gives back in weight and price.

The official F9 sheet does not list a top speed. Where we mention speed on this page, it is clearly labelled as approximate fleet data, never a factory figure.
Battery and runtime
The F9 runs on a 48 V lithium pack. Standard is 0.8 kWh (18 Ah), good for up to 40 minutes of sporty riding; the optional Battery Capacity Plus lifts it to 1.2 kWh (27 Ah) and up to 60 minutes. The weight moves with it — 22.9 kg standard, 24.8 kg with the bigger pack.
Charging on the supplied charger is about 4 hours for the standard pack and about 6 hours for Capacity Plus. With the optional Quick Charger, that drops to roughly 1 hour / 1.5 hours. From 30% battery the electronics reduce maximum power step by step as a reserve, so plan to be back before the indicator runs low.
Diving depth: 3 metres by default, 25 at most
Out of the box the F9 cuts out at 3.0 metres. The limit can be raised in the settings menu, in steps, up to 25 metres — and it resets back to 3 m after each deeper dive. The motor cuts out if you exceed the set depth and only restarts above it.
Going below 3 m is for divers with a valid licence or under a qualified instructor, and never alone — the depth sensor is a safety limit, not a calibrated dive gauge. For snorkelling and surface fun the default 3 m is more than enough, and that is where most of our rental customers stay.
Six official colours
The F9 is finished in six official colours, from the loud to the understated:
- Carex Yellow
- Signum Red
- Star White
- Titanium
- Meteo Silver
- Navel Orange
Special colours and the Chrome and Colour packages sit on top as options. If you are buying rather than renting, tell us the colour and battery option when you ask for a price — they change the figure, so it helps to fix them early.
Who the F9 is for
The F9 is the right choice when you want the F9-series feel — the Porsche-designed hull, the stepless throttle, the three drive modes — without paying for the F9 S's extra thrust. It is lighter to lift out of the water, kinder on the budget, and still genuinely quick: 2.6 kW and 60 TP move a 23 kg craft with real authority.
- First-time riders — the standard unit in most rental fleets, ours included, and the model the whole family can get moving on.
- Snorkellers and casual riders — the default 3 m depth and 40-minute runtime match exactly how most people actually use it.
- Boat owners on a budget — the lightest and most affordable new Seabob in the range, easy to stow and lift.
If you want noticeably more thrust, a bigger battery as standard and the Driving Stability System built in, that is the F9 S. For what it costs to buy either, see the Seabob price guide; to try one before you decide, rent a Seabob with us in Fethiye.
